The Apocalypse

[W]e are so wise: we have women politicians, children metaphysicians; every silly fellow can square a circle, make perpetual motions, find the philosopher’s stone, interpret Apocalypses, make new Theories, a new system of the world, new Logic, new Philosophy, &c.

—The Anatomy of Melancholy, Robert Burton, 1621

The Apocalypse began with the Red Horse. The Bible says it begins with the white horse and the conqueror who rides him, but for me, it was the Red Horse, the horse of war. The Pale Horse and his deadly rider were next. The Black Horse and the White Horse so far lack their riders.

There are fires. They started when the Red Horse rode in. And angels. And of course there is poor, suffering humanity.
